Beacon Hill Public School Heads Home

At the March 22, 2017 meeting, the Board unanimously approved the motion to reopen Beacon Hill Public School at the original location effective September 5, 2017.

“This is a people decision, not a financial decision. We heard parents, staff and students, and know this will be good for the community,” said Superintendent Doug Nicholls.

Jeff Thompson, Board Chair, echoed similar sentiments adding, “we reflected seriously on this decision. Once we heard all the background information, we knew this is the right thing to do for the Beacon Hill community. The response to our decision has been excellent. It exemplifies the commitment staff and parents have for their school, which is the centre of Beacon Hill. It will be a way to bring people together.”

“The District truly cares about our students and families. We are ensuring our students are in the right place, engaged in the kind of social networking and experiences that are familiar for them. At the end of the day, we want to ensure our students have everything they need to be successful,” Chair Thompson stated.
