(Fort McMurray, AB, May 14, 2024) Due to the ongoing wildfire situation in the Fort McMurray region and the State of Local Emergency, all Fort McMurray Schools will be closed for the remainder of the week (May 15-17). At this time, it is expected that all schools will be in a position to reopen on May 21, 2024.
We made this decision proactively to ensure families are together should additional evacuation orders come in our community. The safety of our students, families, and staff as always remains our top priority.
Fort McMurray Catholic Schools, Fort McMurray Public Schools, and Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord (École Boréale) use and share trusted sources of Wildfire and Air Quality information.
