News Release: FMPSD Announces New Director of Education

Fort McMurray Public School Division (FMPSD) is pleased to announce Jen Quigley will be joining the Division as Director of Education on August 1, 2020.

Jen has a Master of Education, K-12 Leadership from Simon Fraser and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. She is currently the Principal of Marysville Elementary in Rocky Mountain School District, Kimberley, BC. She has been working as a school-based Principal for the past nine years. 

In addition to her formal leadership roles, Jen has taught K-12, English, Social studies, and International Baccalaureate English in Kimberley and Langley. Jen has also worked for the Ministry of Education in Seoul and in the Yeongdeungpo Regional District where she developed curriculum for English Language Learners.

Her leadership work at the division level has focused on continuous improvement for literacy programming, served as a District Early Years Coordinator with an emphasis on early intervention, as well as has facilitated a professional learning community of practice in response to intervention, differentiated instruction, and universal design for learning.  

Jen is a collaborative leader who strives to “create an environment where it’s possible for each student to reach their full potential, ask questions, learn from their mistakes, give and receive feedback, create, and try their best.” 

“We know Jen will strengthen the leadership team. Her versatile portfolio will make her an asset to our group. We look forward to working with Jen,” said Jennifer Turner, Superintendent, FMPSD.
