Tech-Trades Academy

This program is designed to help foster creativity and problem-solving skills in our students. Through hands-on activities, students will gain an understanding of the principles behind these trades and craft projects that they can be proud of. Our instructors are experienced industry professionals who bring years of knowledge to their classes.

This program is open to all students in grades four to nine, and focuses on two streams of interest: pre-engineering and multimedia. Pre-Engineering studies focus on robotics, electrical design, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and computer sciences including coding and virtual reality (VR). Multimedia studies focus on photography, movie-making, sound editing and art design. We also offer specialized classes in the areas of renewable energy and electronics.

At FMPSD's Tech-Trades Academy, we strive to create an environment that is both fun and educational for our students. By encouraging exploration and collaboration between students and instructors, we aim to provide a space where everyone can learn and grow. With our comprehensive curriculum, students will have the opportunity to develop problem-solving skills, gain confidence in their abilities, and explore new technologies.

Our goal is that by completing projects in Tech-Trades Academy, students will gain a better understanding and appreciation for the technology surrounding them. With this knowledge, they can use their creativity and problem-solving skills to create solutions to real-world problems.

Students that are involved in Tech-Trades Academy can participate in annual robotics tournaments, coding tournaments and invention fairs. Through hands-on activities, workshops, and tournaments, we strive to equip our students with the knowledge they need for a successful career in technology trades.
